Windows Error: You'll need a new app to open this .lma file. / Unknow file type .lma

You will need Administrator Privilege's to correct this issue.

If you receive the below message when you click Launch Software in LearnMate, LearnMate Agent (LMAgent) may not be installed.
This article walks through the brief steps required to install LM Agent.



This is caused by the LearnMate Agent not being installed on the computer or Windows configured to use a different Default App. 
The LearnMate Agent is both a Licensing Utility and Application Launcher

To install the LearnMate Agent

You can download the agent directly from here:

You can also download the agent from your Learnmate site, under the Help Files help and support block.

1. Log in to your schools LearnMate Site.

2. Find the Help Files block, which will be on the right-hand side of the screen, unless you're viewing from a smaller screen, in which it may be at the bottom of the page.
3. Click "Download LearnMate Agent"

4. After downloading the software, run the installation.

5. Retry launching the software from inside the LearnMate curriculum with a launch link.
If the software still fails to launch as expected, please confirm the file association in Windows.
